The Monkey Island and Broken Sword series are good places to start. Both are brilliant.
Bought it today. I regret doing so now. The game is aimless/pointless as far as I can tell. The graphics are nice but that's about it.
For platformer I'd go with Leo's Fortune. Not sure about other genres. RPG maybe the newest Infinity Blade or Horn?

It's episodic...pass. Hate that and as the Republique debacle has shown, it takes forever for the follow up to get released and sometimes it...

Leo's Fortune gets my vote. The amount of polish and personality present in the little fluffball is amazing.
