I have read at two separate places that the timers for repairs are back. My iPad is not with me. Can anyone confirm this?

My take on update: 1) EA/Firemonkeys were forced their hand. Why? I believe that the gold currency existed as a "impulse purchase" for users....
I would think it is an off the cuff decision. They pushed their luck too far. Or probably this model was their backup for a situation like this....
