Today's update says that network performance has been improved and that online multiplayer is coming soon.
I was looking forward to this because I enjoy playing Carcassonne with friends. Required Facebook for multiplayer is a deal killer for me.

One of the pictures does say that you can play up to five friends in the same room. That probably should be in the app description.
It supports 2 to 5 players. Whether or not two players is fun I don't know yet. :-)
There's a link in the game that says "trying to play online with friends?" When you click it it says "stay tuned" and mentions that they haven't...
