I am talking on average 1 hour of grinding in 2.1 gives about 10,000 - 12,000 exp per marine. I don't think you should grind in normal difficulty...
I've tried it but it isn't anywhere near the dame AP per hour as act 2.1 to me, (10-12k per hour)
